Milazzo is a small peninsula about 8 km long which is part of the province of Messina. It is the embarkation par excellence of the Aeolian Islands. Being a small strip of land, it has the good fortune to be surrounded by the sea, facing the Gulf of Patti to the west (Mar di Ponente), the Gulf of Milazzo (Mar di Levante) to the east.
By plane
For those arriving by plane, the nearest airport is Catania, from which it is possible to reach Milazzo by taking a bus / shuttle / taxi to the port of Milazzo, which takes approx. an hour and a half, from the following options:
- Alibrando (shuttle service, if the plane is delayed you are automatically assigned to the next shuttle after a notification call);
- Giuntabus (€26 two ways public bus service).
- Sais Autolinee with mandatory change in Messina.
By car
Milazzo is easily reachable by car via the A20 motorway. Taking the homonymous exit.
For those coming from Messina, take the A20 motorway towards Palermo.
By train
By train Milazzo can be reached via the city railway station located outside the city centre.
To reach the city you need to take a bus or a taxi.
